The Campbell County Courts serves as part of Virginia’s 24th Judicial District. These courts consist of a Circuit Court, a General District Court & a Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court. These are all trial courts. Each Court has its own Judges and its own specific jurisdiction. The Campbell judges preside over a variety of cases all unique to the jurisdiction of their particular court. The Campbell Circuit Court is the trial court with the broadest powers and also hears cases appealed from the district courts. The right to trial by Jury is only in the Campbell Circuit Court. Terms of Campbell Circuit Court and General Information
- Terms begin, 2nd Monday, Jan., March, May, July, Sept. & Nov.
- Grand Juries, on term day at 9:00 a.m.
- Criminal cases are set on term day at 2:00 p.m.
- Civil cases are set on term day at 10:00 a.m. or by pretrial hearing which may be by telephone.
- Court convenes 9:00 a.m.
- Commissioners in Chancery are utilized.
- Distribution of court orders is by regular mail or interoffice office mail for local attorneys. If possible, please provide a self-addressed stamped envelope.
